Dr Ibrahim Wada, OON
Dr Ibrahim Wada (MBBS, FWACS, FRCOG, MBA,OON)
is the Founder and Chairman of Nisa Hospital and also Chief Executive of Garki Hospital Abuja, a public private partnership (PPP) with the Federal Capital Territory Abuja (FCTA). He is also the Founder of the Institute of Medical Sciences Africa (IMSA), a leading non-governmental, not for profit, medical institution in Nigeria.
He is a Chief Consultant Gynaecologist, with MBBS from ABU Zaria in 1980. He is a Fellow of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) UK, Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), and holds an MBA in Healthcare Management, Frankfurt, Germany.
He is a specialist in In Vitro Fertilisation –IVF with a career that spans across Nigeria, and the UK. He has written over 15 peer reviewed papers and published a book (Second Chance).
Dr Wada pioneered the Public Private Partnership (PPP) experiment in health in Nigeria at the Garki Hospital Abuja and amongst several awards and honours; he is a recipient of the National Honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) for his ground-breaking works in medicine, specifically the breakthrough in IVF in Nigeria in 1998.
